Intrinsically Safe & ATEX Certified Tablets

ATEX tablets give engineers and operators access to the same types of digital tools used elsewhere on site while working within hazardous areas. Exloc supplies tablet solutions for Zone 1 / 21 and Zone 2 / 22 applications, including purpose-built intrinsically safe devices and ATEX-certified tablet systems designed for industrial use.

Modern hazardous area tablets are increasingly capable working devices rather than simply rugged versions of conventional tablets. Android and Windows options allow businesses to run applications for maintenance, inspections, asset management, data capture, documentation and communication directly in the field. Depending on the tablet, features such as 4G and 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, cameras, replaceable batteries and docking interfaces can support a much wider range of mobile workflows. Some devices can also form part of a Mobile Operator Panel, allowing the same tablet to operate as a fixed interface when docked and remain available for mobile use when required.

Choosing the right ATEX tablet starts with the required hazardous area certification, but the application then determines which type of device makes most sense. Operating system and software compatibility can be particularly important where existing Android or Windows applications need to be retained. Screen size and visibility, battery arrangements, connectivity, camera requirements, available accessories and the way the tablet will be carried or mounted can also make a considerable difference in everyday use.

The Exloc range includes ATEX tablets for both Zone 1 / 21 and Zone 2 / 22 environments, with options covering Android and Windows platforms as well as certified enclosure systems for selected mainstream tablets. Exloc can help assess the application, software and connectivity requirements to identify the most appropriate solution.
