The latest generation of the ORCA HMI features the cordless EasyConnect click-fit system. This system consists of two separate modules: the electronic box (E-Box) and the display box (D-Box), which are connected via a click-fit system, allowing for easy combination and flexibility. This modular concept transforms the ORCA into more than just an HMI; it is a technological system that ensures replacements, upgrades, and easy maintenance are possible for at least the next 15 years.

The new ORCA platform is designed for process and machine operation in the pharmaceutical, chemical, food and beverage, biotech, and life science industries. The modular operator stations and panel-mount devices are the perfect solution for Zones 1, 2, 21, and 22, as well as for Class I & II, Division 2, and Class III. They are globally certified and, upon request, suitable for Class I, Division 1.

Cordless modularity, cybersecurity, and investment security have been thoroughly considered in the development of the ORCA HMI platform.

EasyConnect Click-Fit System
With the EasyConnect click-fit system, the electronic box (E-Box) containing the PC or Thin Client can be detached from the display box (D-Box) with the multi-touch screen in just a few steps, without disconnecting any cables. This system simplifies the combination and replacement of modules. Previously, upgrading processing speed required an entirely new system; now, a new E-Box with a faster CPU suffices.

This design ensures the continuity, longevity, and investment security of the ORCA operating system.

Cybersecurity and RFID Access
As digitalisation increases, so does the risk of cyber attacks. Therefore, cybersecurity is as critical as explosion protection. Each ORCA HMI operator station is a closed system with industrial-grade security, supporting standards such as UEFI Secure Boot and SSD write-protection. It can also be integrated into customer-specific security concepts seamlessly.

Additionally, ORCA operator stations, including the 22″ panel mount, can be equipped with contactless RFID/NFC readers. This feature enables quick and convenient user authentications and electronic signatures.
