BA3101 & BA3102 Pageant Operator Displays

Intrinsically Safe Operator Panel, PLC and Modular I/O System for Hazardous Areas

The BA3101 and BA3102 Pageant Operator Displays provide a flexible way to monitor and control processes directly within hazardous areas. Designed as a modular system, Pageant combines a 7-inch operator interface, optional PLC functionality and configurable I/O into a single intrinsically safe platform.

Unlike traditional control architectures that require separate HMIs, PLCs and interface hardware, Pageant allows everything to be brought together at the point of operation. This reduces wiring complexity, simplifies system design and enables operators to view and adjust processes locally, even in Zone 1 environments.

At its core, the system is built around the operator display, which can be fitted with a plug-in CPU module running industry-standard CODESYS software, along with up to seven input and output modules. This allows each installation to be tailored to the exact requirements of the application, whether that is simple indication, remote monitoring or full process control.

Key Features

  • Intrinsically safe operator panel for installation in Zone 0, 1, 2, 20, 21 and 22 hazardous areas
  • 7-inch backlit display with clear process visualisation
  • 8 touch buttons with programmable tricolour status indication
  • Optional embedded PLC using CODESYS (IEC 61131 compliant)
  • Modular design with up to 7 plug-in I/O modules
  • Supports analogue and digital inputs and outputs, including 4–20mA and NAMUR
  • RS485-IS communication available for Modbus integration
  • Powered via a single BEKA power isolator
  • IP66 stainless steel front panel for harsh environments

Flexible Control for Hazardous Areas

Pageant is designed to adapt to the needs of the application. It can be used as:

  • A local operator interface displaying process data
  • A remote Modbus display panel
  • A compact PLC system located directly in the hazardous area
  • A modular control system interfacing directly with field instruments

By combining display, control and I/O in a single intrinsically safe system, Pageant helps reduce installation time, minimise infrastructure and create a cleaner, more efficient control architecture.

System Overview

A complete Pageant system consists of:

  • BA3101 or BA3102 Operator Display
  • Plug-in CPU module (with or without communication)
  • Up to 7 plug-in I/O modules
  • BEKA power isolator (installed in safe area or Zone 2)

This modular approach allows systems to be configured with only the required functionality and expanded later if needed.
