The i.safe MOBILE IS540.2 is an ATEX and IECEx certified 5G smartphone designed for use in Zone 2 / 22 hazardous areas. Running Android 14 on a Qualcomm QCM6490 octa-core processor, it combines the familiarity and application support of a modern Android smartphone with the certification and rugged construction required for industrial environments.

Its 6-inch Full HD display provides a practical working area for mobile applications, documents and field data, while the 48 MP rear camera supports detailed image capture during inspections, maintenance and other site activities. 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and satellite positioning provide a broad range of connectivity options for organisations using mobile applications and connected workflows in hazardous areas.

The IS540.2 is also designed around everyday industrial use. Its 4400 mAh battery is replaceable, allowing batteries to be exchanged rather than taking the device out of service for charging. Programmable side and red keys can be assigned to functions such as Push-to-Talk, Push-to-Talk over Cellular, lone worker applications or SOS functions, while the 16-pin ISM interface provides a secure connection for approved accessories.

For organisations looking to extend existing Android-based workflows into Zone 2 / 22 areas, the IS540.2 provides a capable platform for communication, inspections, maintenance applications, data capture and other mobile industrial tasks.

The robust design is also suitable for difficult environments and the textile headband allows helmets and bump caps to be worn.
