R. STAHL Ethernet-APL Field Switch for Zone 1

Series 9740

Ethernet-APL Field Switch

Series 9740

The R. STAHL Series 9740 Ethernet-APL Field Switch for Zone 1 is designed to bring modern Ethernet communications directly into hazardous process environments. Installed in Zone 1 areas, it enables intrinsically safe field devices such as transmitters, sensors and instruments to connect to higher-level plant networks using Ethernet-APL technology.

By placing connectivity closer to the process, the Series 9740 can help simplify network architecture, reduce complex wiring requirements and support digital transformation projects in hazardous areas. It is particularly well suited to new installations, plant upgrades and users looking to modernise PROFIBUS PA systems.

Integrated diagnostics assist with faster commissioning and easier troubleshooting, while redundant auxiliary power options help improve system availability in critical applications.

Key Features

  • Installation suitable for Zone 1 hazardous areas
  • Supports up to 16 Ethernet-APL field devices
  • Optional PROFIBUS PA device integration (model dependent)
  • Intrinsically safe spur outputs
  • Supports 100BASE-TX uplink networking
  • Redundant power supply capability
  • Integrated diagnostics for maintenance and commissioning
